It appears as if the Chiefs new hierarchy is rubbing veteran players the wrong way. According to the Kansas City Star, Pro Bowl guard Brian Waters has asked the team to move him after GM Scott Pioli reportedly refused to speak with Waters.
At this year’s Pro Bowl Waters was apparently told by Cardinals Pro Bowlers that Chiefs head coach Todd Haley was aloof and condescending. He reportedly has told Chiefs management he wants out and that his differences with Haley are irreconcilable.
Waters at age 32 would be a good get for the Bills, and is under contract for three more years for relatively reasonable money considering he’s a Pro Bowl talent. What he would command in a trade is unclear as the Chiefs reportedly don’t want to move him, but by the sound of the report Waters is adamant.
Here are his base salary numbers for the next three seasons.
