Being that Geoff Hangartner was the first free agent signing of the Bills this offseason, he was asked if he was bothered being overshadowed by the subsequent signing of Terrell Owens. He had a fantastic answer.
“I’m pretty angry about it really,” said Hangartner dripping with sarcasm. “I figured all along that I’d be a big free agent signing.”
After the media laughter died down, Hangartner continued.
“I don’t care,” he said. “It’s fine. I can see why we were overshadowed and he’s obviously earned the right to be the lead dog. That’s fine with me I don’t really care.”
Frankly being an offensive linemen, Hangartner is probably used to being overshadowed. It comes with the position. So this was probably nothing different for him. Hangartner was on hand at One Bills Drive participating in the opening of the voluntary offseason conditioning program Monday.
