Inside The Bills

Rhodes was probably the best addition

It was obvious to all of us that the Bills wanted a proven veteran as insurance with Marshawn Lynch suspended for the first three games. With Fred Taylor choosing to sign elsewhere, I don’t think the Bills could have done better than Dominic Rhodes at this stage of the game.

The reason I like this signing is this guy is a gamer. It’s hard not to think about his Super Bowl XLI performance when he ran all over that vaunted Bears defense for 113 yards averaging almost 5.5 yards per carry with a touchdown to boot. I remember the broadcasters for that game wondering aloud if he should be the Super Bowl MVP.

What I like best is the guy is coming off a season in which he set career highs in receiving (45 catches) and touchdowns (9) with six on the ground and three through the air. And without ever having to handle a full workload in his career he’s a young 30. What do you think?
