After throwing out the first pitch and taking batting practice at the Blue Jays game in Toronto last week, Trent Edwards had mentioned he had “some groin issues” after taking his swings marveling at how baseball players put all that torque on their midsection. Fans worried that Edwards was legitimately injured, but Edwards cleared that up on Monday.
“Everything is fine,” he said. “Everything feels great and it’s good to be back here with these guys.”
Edwards participated fully with his teammates in their first OTA practice. And his comment about “groin issues” was more in a joking manner than anything else. As for his errant pitch before the game, he’s still not very proud of that.
“That pitch was pretty bad and I was pretty embarrassed about it,” said Edwards. “But it gives us something to talk about.”
