The Chicago Bears are reportedly still mulling over a couple of free agent options, one of which includes LB Pisa Tinoisamoa, though a contract has not been offered to the former Rams LB according to the Chicago Sun-Times. The speculation is that the Bears may be in need of a veteran cornerback more than a veteran LB.
Arizona FA CB Rod Hood is a commodity to be had on the open market and the Bears are interested especially after moving Corey Graham to safety. The Sun-Times seems to indicate that the Bears are likely make a contract offer to one of them this week. Chicago usually doesn’t get into bidding wars, but if the interest is lukewarm in terms of offers for Hood they could make one. Either way it speculated that CB might be more important for the Bears to fill than LB.
Whether that means it’s easier for the Bills to pursue Tinoisamoa at a bargain price remains to be seen. It seems a couple of other dominoes have to fall before that becomes a realistic possibility.
