Trent taking a second crack at first pitch
Posted by on June 29, 2009 – 7:50 pmTrent Edwards is going to be taking a second shot at tossing out a ceremonial first pitch tonight at Chavez Ravine.
That according to dodgers.com, which says he’ll be throwing out the first pitch of tonight’s Dodgers-Rockies game.
Edwards threw out a first pitch earlier this season at the Rogers Center before a Blue Jays-Yankees game that was not exactly on target. The Bills QB did have fun with it when asked to explain what happened on the Jim Rome show a few days later.
He jokingly claimed that he thought Vernon Wells gave him the sign for a pitch out and the ball got away from him. To his credit he did hit two bombs in batting practice.
Edwards grew up a Dodgers fan, so maybe it’s a National League thing and he’ll throw one right down the middle.
There could also be a bit more pressure however, knowing that actor Zac Levi, who plays the lead role in the network TV show “Chuck” will also be throwing. We’ll see.
