Lynch and Schobel ribbing each other at practice

Marshawn Lynch and Aaron Schobel like to joke and needle each other at practice. It’s been a frequent occurrence over the past two seasons when both have been healthy. And it resurfaced again in Saturday afternoon’s practice.

On a pass play Schobel bent the corner and was about to apply pressure on Trent Edwards, when his foot slipped out from under him and he went to the ground on his hip. Lynch, who was not a part of the play, but 10 yards back watching starting laughing and ribbing him for slipping.

On the next play Lynch was in the lineup and the play is a run call for him up the middle. Lynch takes the hand-off and works his way up to the line of scrimmage. As he tries to make a spin move, Schobel grabs him by the base of the helmet in back and stops him dead in his tracks, and looks at him as if to say, ‘Is that a good enough play for you?’

Lynch looks him dead in the eye and busts a joke on him, Schobel gives him a bluff charge like he’s going to start something and Lynch gives him a playful head slap on the helmet.

Schobel puts up this gruff front, and Lynch plays off it to try to get Schobel’s goat. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. He seemed close to being successful Saturday afternoon.
