Most of you are well aware of the holdup concerning Aaron Maybin’s contract. It’s the guy sitting one pick ahead of him Michael Crabtree and every Bills fan’s favorite agent.
Eugene Parker represents Crabtree, and also represents Jason Peters. We all remember last season’s charade with the holdout. Anyway the Crabtree camp is reportedly still asking for top 5 pick money since that’s where they thought he should have been drafted, or at least money superior to that of Darrius Heyward-Bey who went 7th overall to Oakland.
The agents for the picks right before and right after Crabtree have remained in a holding pattern because if Crabtree’s agent gets buku bucks for his client, the players right around him will have leverage in negotiating bigger money than they’re in line to get through the slotting process of picks.
Whether there’s a breakthrough any time soon is anybody’s guess.
