It’s dragged on for about a week now, but Terrell Owens came to the defense of Chargers CB Antonio Cromartie, who was fined $2,500 for tweeting that the food at San Diego’s training camp was awful.
Owens didn’t think a fine was warranted.
“I think it’s ridiculous,” said Owens. “You know you’re going to get my honest opinion about it and for someone to get fined $2500 dollars because he tweeted that the cafeteria food is bad, then maybe they need to change it, you know?
“I mean, that’s just his opinion, and I feel him. I think across the board with a lot of teams we’ve been in camp situation and the food always kind of starts off good and tapers off somewhere along the way, so what’s wrong with that? Voicing your opinion is no different than saying practice is too hard.”
Owens however, has been very impressed with the food offered at Bills camp and said he wasn’t blowing any smoke with that assessment.
“Trust me, this is the best cafeteria and food selection that I’ve ever been around,” said Owens. “It’s been great here and I’m not feeding you a line (laughing). It’s been pretty good.”
