Drayton Florence’s sprained knee wasn’t as bad as first feared, but he’s still going to be sidelined for an extended period of time.
Head coach Dick Jauron provided the update after practice when asked about Bryan Scott and Florence.
“Bryan is pretty good and he’s day-to-day,” said Jauron. “Drayton is not quite that good, but it’s not as bad as it could have been. And that’s more into weeks. Not certain how many. It doesn’t sound like five, but anywhere from 2-5 it’s right in that range.”
Florence had been having a solid training camp, but this knee sprain from Saturday night’s game will obviously be a setback and could compromise his availability for the season opener if it prevents him from practicing leading up to the first game of the season.
