Bills head coach Dick Jauron was asked if he’s worried about Trent’s confidence being shaken in light of the offensive struggles the past two weeks. Here was his response.
“I would say everybody’s confidence, when you lose it’s hard to keep confident,” said Jauron. “So we’ve got to get back to winning games and focus on this game and go out and give everything we have to win it. It’s a tough deal when you lose a football game and when you lose a couple in a row it gets tougher.”
For the season now Edwards stat line reads as follows.
70-117 (59.8%) for 790 yards (6.75 yds/att), 5 TDs, 5 INTs, sacked 16 times and a passer rating of 76.5.
Not being an apologist here, but seeing that he’s been sacked an average of four times per game is a small indication as to the pressure he’s been under when back in the pocket. Not saying that’s all a protection problem, but it’s part of the equation.
