With the Jets likely facing the prospect of being down a pair of receivers in Jerricho Cotchery and Brad Smith on Sunday, they’ve added a receiver to their 53-man roster.
New York promoted WR Danny Woodhead from their practice squad, signing him to their active roster Saturday. To make room for him on the 53-man roster, the Jets waived DT Howard Green.
Woodhead (5’9″ 195) has been with the Jets since 2008 when he was signed by the club as an undrafted rookie free agent. But he spent all of 2008 on injured reserve. He was signed to the team’s practice squad right after he was waived as part of final cuts in early September.
