Running at Jenkins not productive
Posted by on October 18, 2009 – 1:25 pmThis probably comes as no surprise, but Jets DT Kris Jenkins was extremely effective in stopping runs that came in his direction last season against the Bills.
According to ESPN stat guru KC Joyner, the Bills had 15 runs in the two games against the Jets last season that went up the middle at or in the general direction of the area occupied by Jenkins. On those 15 run plays the Bills gained 43 yards, less than three yards per carry.
Buffalo now has a whole new offensive front, which includes center Geoff Hangartner, a center that perhaps knows Jenkins game better than any other center in the league having been his teammate for three seasons in Carolina.
The Bills gained 187 rushing yards in their last meeting with the Jets and Jenkins was double and sometimes triple teamed by the Bills. But Jenkins also was not 100 percent healthy in that game. And as we all know the Jets still won that game.
