UFL Florida Tuskers head coach Jim Haslett set the record straight on the kind of contact he’s had with NFL teams.
In an interview with the Orlando Sentinel, Haslett explained that when he said he had been contacted by a number of teams, he said the contact was to gather more information from him about his players.
“I was talking about being contacted about the players. Fanhouse wrote that and I don’t know how they got it that way. I said that I, like a lot of our other coaches, had been contacted and I meant contacted about our players,” Haslett told the Sentinel. “I haven’t been contacted by anyone, personally. There are no jobs open right now anyway. There’s still five weeks of football or whatever it is.”
Haslett has been mentioned as a head coaching candidate with the Bills where he played linebacker from 1979-1985. He’s been head coach in the NFL for the Saints and Rams, winning Coach of the Year honors with New Orleans in 2000.
