DL Corey Mace was released on Monday, but is back with the team just not on the 53-man roster.
Just two days after being waived from the 53-man roster, Mace was re-signed to the Bills practice squad.
He had been on the team’s practice squad since the beginning of the season before being called up to the active roster on Nov. 28. Mace appeared in two games, as he played against the Dolphins and Jets the past two weeks, recording an interception in Week 12.
The defensive lineman was waived Monday as the team re-signed Joe Klopfenstein to give the Bills three tight ends on their roster.
The open spot on Buffalo’s eight-man practice squad to re-sign Mace was created when LB Anthony Waters was signed by the New Orleans Saints.
Waters had been on the Bills practice squad since Oct. 14. He had been a free agent signee of the Saints this past offseason, but did not make their opening day roster.
