The Chiefs made a roster move to shore up their defensive front.
Kansas City added defensive tackle Dion Gales to their 53-man roster Saturday. Gales, a 6-foot-5, 259-pound rookie free agent from Troy State, replaces Kenny Smith, who was released earlier this week.
Gales will take the backup nose tackle position behind starter Ron Edwards, a former Bill.
Gales had spent the first 12 weeks of the season on the Chiefs practice squad.
