Earlier this week Owens left open the possibility of returning to the Bills in 2010. But that’s not the only option he would consider.
According to the Sacramento Bee, Owens would also consider the San Francisco 49ers, where he began his career.
Owens was quoted as saying the following regarding a return to San Fran.
“I wouldn’t want to go back just to, you know, put on a uniform just to end my career there,” he said. “If I came back, I know I’m capable of playing this game at a high level. I would be instrumental and would want to be instrumental in whatever they’re trying to strive to do in that organization.”
As a free agent to be, Owens is wisely considering every possibility. Knowing interest on the free agent market wasn’t widespread for his services this past offseason, he realizes he may not be able to pick his destination. So he has to be open to any team that might be interested in his services.
