Charlie Weis unsure about coaching plans
Posted by on December 21, 2009 – 10:55 amFormer Notre Dame head coach Charlie Weis was largely thought to be a candidate for an offensive coordinator post in the NFL after being fired by the Fighting Irish. It was even floated that he would covet the Chicago OC post. But according to close friend and former pupil Tom Brady, Weis isn’t sure what he wants right now.
The Boston Globe talked with Brady about Weis, as the two still stay in touch despite not working together with the Pats since Weis left for South Bend four years ago.
Brady was quoted as saying of Weis, “I don’t think he knows what he’s doing yet.”
That’s not surprising. With the coaching carousel not even warmed up with two weeks left in the regular season, Weis will likely see just what openings exist and what members of his coaching brethren are in line for head coaching jobs that he has a prior working relationship with. Weis is still coveted coordinator material.
