With the news breaking today that Aaron Schobel is considering retirement at season’s end, interim head coach Perry Fewell was asked about his knowledge of the pass rusher’s thought process. Fewell had a clevel response.
“No, we haven’t discussed that,” said Fewell. “And no he can’t.”
Fewell has seen the difference Schobel makes for his defense first hand after not having him for the final 11 games of the season last year. Schobel currently leads the team in sacks and with 7 has the most since his Pro Bowl season in 2006 when he had 14. That’s why he jokingly said he can’t retire.
