Terrell Owens was naturally asked about his 1,000th career catch, which came in the loss to Atlanta Sunday. As has been the case with career milestones, Owens didn’t think much of it.
“For me it doesn’t affect me,” he said. “I just go out and play the game and all the records that I’m starting to accumulate it’s just part of what I’ve been doing throughout my career. I don’t play this game to record a record, it is what it is. I’m just blessed to play this game. I’ve been playing at a productive level and I’m honored to be on the list, but as far as where I am I don’t care about that. I would’ve rather had the win today.”
Owens has previously maintained that he plays the game for a Super Bowl ring. The veteran receiver had four catches in Sunday’s game for 39 yards. He now has 1,002 receptions in his career.
