It’s pure speculation at this point, but ESPN Chicago blogger Jeff Dickerson says with Bills interim head coach Perry Fewell free to pursue other opportunities that going back to the Bears is a realistic possibility.
Fewell’s name has been linked with a potential defensive coordinator opening with the Bears under Lovie Smith. Fewell worked under Smith in both Chicago and St. Louis as a secondary coach before joining Dick Jauron’s staff in Buffalo in 2006.
Naturally Fewell will probably wait to see if he is going to land the Bills permanent head coaching gig before seriously considering other opportunities.
Fewell has earned respect around the league for doing more with less in Buffalo the past couple of seasons with all the injuries the defensive side of the ball has endured the past couple of seasons.
