Even though it did not happen last summer, NFL analysts are still lumping Buffalo in with all the other teams deemed in need of a quarterback as suitors for Michael Vick.
NFL.com’s Jason LaCanfora in a recent blog lists Buffalo as one of five teams he thinks would be in the running for Vick’s services.
LaCanfora believes the Eagles will not pick up Vick’s $5.2M option for the second year of his deal. He expects that they will explore their trade options before having to pay the $5.2M option in mid-March.
As LaCanfora points out, helping Vick’s trade value is the dearth of quality QB options in free agency.
One other note. The only other team besides the Eagles to reportedly offer Vick a contract last offseason was the Cincinnati Bengals. Now that he has been through a season in the NFL, it’s logical to think the number of teams interested would increase.
