Bills head coach Chan Gailey confirmed that he has spoken with DE Aaron Schobel.
Gailey did not provide many details regarding their conversation, but did offering the following on their talk.
“I have talked to Aaron Schobel and we had a good conversation,” said Gailey. “I’m going to leave it at that.”
When asked if Schobel shed any light as to which way he might be leaning with respect to possible retirement, Gailey said he had not.
“I took from the conversation that he has not decided, but I think that’s going to come with time. He’s going to have to make a decision at some point in time and I think he will. We know what a great player he is, we know we’d like to have him on the Bills and make that happen, but we’ll see what he decides.”
Schobel said he planned to take two months of time before making his decision. The 2009 regular season ended just five weeks ago.
