Chan Gailey was asked about Marshawn Lynch’s future with the club and the Bills head coach indicated that he likes what he sees from the running back on tape.
Now complete with player evaluations, Gailey offered the following on Lynch.
“Marshawn is an excellent football player,” said Gailey. “The guy made All-Pro a couple of years ago. He’s extremely talented, can catch the ball, can run it, can run with power, can get on the edge. He’s a very good footbvall player.
“I hope we are able to take him and use him and we’re fortunate to have a couple of guys that are good football players at that position. We need to build off of them.”
When asked if Lynch fits into the kind of culture Gailey is looking to cultivate on his club he responded as follows.
“I don’t know,” Gailey said. “I’ve not had a chance to meet him. He hasn’t been back in town so I haven’t had a chance to talk with him. I hope I get a chance to do that here shortly. I don’t know that answer. I haven’t met with him and talked with him yet.”
One thing that is clear is Gailey wants to have two capable backs on his roster.
“I think it takes two quality guys to get you through a season,” he said. “We’re finding out in our league that the players are getting so much bigger and faster and stronger that the collisions are bigger every year and it takes a couple of guys to be able to get you through a year.”
