Western New York native and top tight end prospect Rob Gronkowski will not work out with his Arizona teammates at the school’s pro day on March 12th.
Instead Gronkowski told us at the NFL combine that he’ll have an individual pro day on campus in late March. He’s tentatively shooting for March 26th.
“My back is 100 percent, but I just started running two weeks ago,” said Gronkowski. “I need to get reconditioned and get my times back down. Every week my speed is improving so I think I need two or three more weeks until it improves to the fullest to where I was before my back surgery. So my doctors and agents and I all decided it would be best for me to work out at the end of March.”
Gronkowski had a herniated disc in his back that required surgery and forced him to miss his junior season (2009). Still he’s considered one of the top two tight ends in the draft. His pro day will take place in Tucson, Arizona.
