WNY native and one of the top tight end prospects in this year’s draft Rob Gronkowski confirmed that he’ll only be doing the bench press during the workout portion of the combine.
Gronkowski outlined why he will not be doing any of the other drills in his draft diary on SportingNews.com.
“For the other workouts, I’ll wait until my pro day in a few weeks when I’m 100 percent healthy and at full speed,” Gronkowski wrote.
Gronkowski missed the entire 2009 season after a herniated disc in his back required surgery. He and Oklahoma’s Jermaine Gresham are considered two of the best tight ends in the class. Gronkowski’s pro day is tentatively set for March 12.
We hope to speak with Gronkowski today here at the NFL Combine as Offensive linemen and tight ends arrive Thursday here in Indianapolis. Check back all day at Buffalobills.com for updates on the Bills and the prospects in this year’s draft class.
