Georgia Tech WR Demaryius Thomas broke his foot just over a week ago training at API in Phoenix. NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock compared the injury he suffered to a prominent receiving prospect in last year’s draft.
“A very similar injury to that of Crabtree a year ago,” said Mayock. “It’s a four to six week rehab. I don’t know whether or not he’ll have a pro day workout prior to the draft.”
Mayock said prior to the injury his sources were telling him that Thomas was running in the high 4.3s for a 40 time. At 6’3” 225 pounds that would push him even higher up draft boards, but now it’s unlikely he’ll be able to prove he can run times like that.
