Troy Smith won’t cost much

Restricted free agent QB Troy Smith was tendered a qualifying offer by his team the Baltimore Ravens, but it’s not at a level where some NFL teams consider making him an offer.

Smith’s agent confirmed that the quarterback received the low tender from the Ravens to retain his rights.

RalphCindrich: Troy Smith #NFL Baltimore #Ravens #RFA QB tendered right of first refusal and draft choice equal to his orginal round-5th.

Some NFL teams in desperate need for a quarterback will strongly consider putting together an offer sheet for Smith, knowing the only compensation they’d have to surrender if Baltimore chose not to match would be a fifth-round pick. Smith is only six-feet tall, but has a strong arm and mobility.

He’s appeared in 14 games in his three-year NFL career with three touchdowns and one INT.
