What Texans see in OL Smith
Posted by on March 8, 2010 – 9:51 pmHouston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak talked with HoustonTexans.com about what they like about OL Wade Smith.
Here’s what Kubiak likes about Smith.
“(Versatility) is the biggest thing with him,” Kubiak told HoustonTexans.com. “I’ve chased this kid a couple of times. I chased him in Denver, and now I get a chance here in Houston. He can play a lot of spots.
“We see him as an inside player. We want him to come compete at the center/guard position for our football team. We think that’s going to be a very competitive position for our team this year, so we’ll see what he thinks of it.”
So much like the Bills, Houston sees him as a versatile interior option that has plenty of starting experience. But he left Houston Monday night without a contract.
