Bills head coach Chan Gailey was asked for his thoughts on talent that might be out there on other NFL clubs with trade potential and if it could fit the skill set of what he’s looking for in a quarterback in a one-on-one interview with NFL Network. Gailey left the door open to anything and everything.
“I think you’re always looking to see if you can improve your football team and there are obviously some good players in the league,” Gailey said. “We’re looking at all options. We’re not sticking our head in the sand and say hey let’s bite the bullet and just go on. One thing I’ll say about Buddy Nix is he looks at everything, he looks at every option.”
Gailey refuses to close the door on anything because he has said before that in the business of the NFL you have to be flexible. So although things appear status quo for now at the quarterback position, based on these comments and others prior I don’t believe anyone should assume that the Bills are not going to be proactive about their quarterback situation provided it makes the team better at that position.
