Former Syracuse WR and Riverside high school alum Mike Williams has gone to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers early on day 3. Some teams have their doubts about him, but Williams made a promise to himself and Buffalo as a city.
Williams who had some off the field question marks because of academic issues and his departure from the Orange football team last year is clearly one of the most physically gifted players. Hopefully he can make the most of this opportunity. Here’s what he had to say regarding how he expects his career to pan out.
“People in Buffalo haven’t made it a lot,” said Williams. “A lot of people seem like they’re going to make it and fall off all the time. It makes me put Buffalo on my back and let me know that I’m here for my city and we can make it too and somebody else is going to be next.”
