None of Buffalo’s top three draft choices are under contract at this point, but top pick C.J. Spiller provided an update on where things stand for him.
In an interview with USA Today over the weekend at the Nationwide Series race at Daytona, where Spiller served as grand marshal, Spiller explained that the process for his contract with Buffalo is just getting underway.
“My agent is Gary Wichard from Pro Tect Management,” Spiller told USA Today. “I haven’t had too many discussions with him yet. The only thing we can do right now is base our numbers off last year and (that) No. 9 pick. They’ll get into that discussion (with the Bills) in the next week or two.”
Naturally head coach Chan Gailey would like to have all of his draft choices signed and in camp on time. Sometimes agents have other ideas. Knowing the type of committed player that Spiller is I’d anticipate seeing the dynamic back reporting on time.
