Bills head coach Chan Gailey was asked for his take on the scuffle at the morning practice Friday when he addressed the media Friday night, and if he addressed it as an issue with his team in meetings.
“No, I didn’t talk about it,” he said. “That’s part of football. If you’ve got passion about the game, it’s going to come out. Sometimes it comes out the wrong way. If it becomes an issue then you have to talk about it because it becomes an issue for a ball game and you don’t want it to show up in a ball game.”
When pressed on it further Gailey again tried to drive home the fact that it’s part of what comes out of the players when they’re banging on each other in the practice setting.
“I think it’s part of the game,” he said. “I’ve been in them and everybody who’s played the game has been in them. So it just comes with the territory.”
