Bills FS Jairus Byrd was absent from practice Tuesday. Head coach Chan Gailey provided an update as to why.
“He had a complication earlier today and I think it’ll be resolved fairly quickly,” Gailey said. “I don’t think it’s anything major he’s just getting it checked out. ”
Gailey would only confirm that it is a physical problem, and did not say whether it would affect Byrd’s playing status for Thursday night’s preseason game.
The nature of the physical complication is not known, but Byrd did have surgery last offseason to repair a torn labrum in his hip. Last summer he had sports hernia surgery.
