After seeing Fred Jackson average 6.1 yards per carry in the loss to Jacksonville last week, but only get 12 carries, it sounds like Buffalo’s offensive staff is eager to give him more opportunities moving forward.
Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick was asked about the prospect of Jackson being used more in the offense in the weeks to come and indicated that in evaluating everything in this the bye week that they will make every attempt to get him more involved.
“You do a big study of the things that we’re doing well,” Fitzpatrick said. “Obviously, from this last game, what we can take out of it is the way Fred ran the ball and the way they blocked for him. That’s something that’s going to be big for us and continuing to find ways to feed him the ball. Like I said all year long, those third and manageable [situations] are what we’ve been good at too. So, [we’ve got to] stay out of those third and longs.”
