The Daily Beast put together a rankings list of the NFL’s most dedicated fans. Surprisingly, it did not look favorably on Bills fans.
The rankings list was put together using average annual stadium attendance percentage over the past four years, average fan cost index and tailgating rank, Bills fans ranked 26th.
I think where Bills fans got hurt was while their average annual stadium attendance is high (94.6%), the average cost for a family of four to attend ($292 and change) was among the lowest in the league. So fans that turn out in similarly high numbers (like Dallas 102.2%) and pay close to twice as much to do so (avg. family of 4 – $514.57) earn the higher ranking. Not really sure how fair that approach is to be honest.
Buffalo ranked ninth out of 32 teams in the tailgating rankings, though it should be noted the Daily Beast used rankings that are more than three years old as that rankings list is from 2007, with Baltimore ranked as the best tailgating locale.
Either way here’s their top 5
3. Green Bay
5. Tampa Bay
