Jairus Byrd has his NFL schedule and his dad, assistant secondary coach of the Chicago Bears Gill Byrd, has his 16-game slate. Despite conflicting schedules, the elder Byrd does whatever he can to get to his son’s games.
“When we have a bye, I go to his game,” said Gill Byrd. “If we play on a Thursday night, I’ll go to his Sunday game. Last year I went to two of his games.”
The elder Byrd was in attendance at Arrowhead to watch Jairus and the Bills face the Chiefs. The two will square off on Sunday in Toronto, but there will be another opportunity for the former Pro Bowl Chargers cornerback to see his son play in person again this season.
“I’ll go to the Cincinnati game after we play on Thursday night,” said Jairus’ dad.
The Bills play the Bengals in Week 11 (Nov. 21).
