Shawne Merriman, who was forced to leave practice early Wednesday with an injury, had his injury designated on the team’s injury report.
Merriman is listed with a calf injury, but that was the injury he had prior to coming to the Bills that had him on their injured reserve list with a minor injury designation.
His lower leg injury with the Bills suffered in practice Wednesday has yet to be specified.
What’s interesting is Merriman had been dealing with a left calf injury, but before leaving the field athletic trainers were looking at his lower right leg. So perhaps compensating for one calf has led to a strain of the other, though he did have a problem with his right Achilles earlier this season.
Head coach Chan Gailey called the injury minor in nature.
