After seeing the comments that NFL.com national editor Vic Carucci got from a couple of Steelers this past Sunday after their escape overtime win over the Bills, it’s clear that no other NFL team in the playoff hunt wants to face the Bills right now.
The comments from a pair of veteran players in LB James Farrior and OT Flozell Adams says it all.
“Coming into this game, they were 2-8, but as far as we were concerned, they were (playing like they were) 8-2,” Adams told Carucci. “I’ve been around a long time and I’ve seen teams fold if they’re 2-8, and just look to the offseason. These guys are not going to do that. They’re going to ruin somebody’s party.”
“I’m just glad we don’t have to play them anymore,” Farrior told Carucci. “They’ve got a lot of fight in them. Even though their record doesn’t show it, I think they’re a good football team.”
This week’s opponent, Minnesota, it pretty much out of the playoff hunt with both the Packers and Bears comfortably ahead of them in the NFC North, but the Patriots and the Jets at the end of the season are likely going to need wins over the Bills with the two teams neck and neck.
The Pats and Jets will both bring their ‘A’ games because they have to, but the Bills will be as well.
