The DraftInsiders have put together a holiday mock draft for everyone to chew on for Christmas weekend, and no, they do not have the Bills taking a quarterback.
With the Bills currently in the six hole, they’ve got them taking Alabama DT Marcel Dareus. The guy is a solid player that at times looks like an immovable object in the Crimson Tide’s front. It’d be a fast way to further shore up their run defense. Auburn’s Nick Fairley is a favorite of mine with respect to defensive linemen, but I don’t see him lasting until the sixth pick and neither do these guys.
Dareus is a quality player though, and with Luck off the board (if he even comes out) I don’t think there’s another QB worthy of a top 10 pick though the DraftInsiders have Ryan Mallett going to the Niners with the seventh pick. If the Bills also believe that to be the case then their priority becomes getting a player they can put on the field immediately. There are too many positional holes to draft a guy for the future. Instant impact is the main goal.
That’s why defensive line or pass rushing linebacker would be ideal for what Buffalo needs knowing the offensive tackle class is not considered a strong one this year in terms of top flight talent.
