The Bills will enter their season finale likely facing Jets backups on Sunday at the new Meadowlands.
After the Jets backed their way into the playoffs thanks to Jacksonville’s loss to Washington, New York head coach Rex Ryan indicated his plan is to sit QB Mark Sanchez, who has a sore throwing shoulder. If Sanchez does get the day off Sunday, veteran Mark Brunell is expected to start in his place. Ryan does appear to be waffling though because during his press conference he also said he’d consider playing Sanchez because he’s “in such a good groove right now.”
The Jets will be playing Wild Card weekend and Ryan indicated that he will rest some starters and treat it like a bye week. That means other nicked up players like Santonio Holmes (turf toe) are also likely to sit on Sunday.
