Bills RB Fred Jackson felt two of his teammates got snubbed for the Pro Bowl.
“Stevie Johnson. I think just with what he has done with the opportunity that he’s gotten this year. I’ve heard it from every team we’ve played this year, somebody from every team told me, ‘That guy is really impressive and he’s going to be a great receiver in the National Football League.’ And Kyle. Kyle has played well the entire time that he has been one of our starting guys. Those are two guys that I felt definitely could’ve been in the Pro Bowl.”
Jackson gets support from the film junkies at Pro Football Focus, who consider Williams’ omission from the Pro Bowl roster as their biggest snub.
But as Chan Gailey astutely pointed out, you’ve got to have more wins as a team to get the necessary respect for your individual achievements.
“There are a couple of guys that have played maybe well enough to have made it, but in general you have to win more games,” said Gailey. “That’s the bottom line, and you have to get on the Sunday night or Monday night or Thursday, something that gives you a little more national exposure. Those are the kind of things that help you make that.”
