Auburn QB Cam Newton is forgoing his senior season and entering the NFL draft pool for 2011.
Newton’s decision came via a press release from the Auburn athletic department late Thursday. With a Heisman trophy and national title under his belt some saw little left for the quarterback to accomplish in college. However, he has only been a Division 1-A starter for one year after starting for Blinn junior college in Texas for a year where he won a Junior college national title.
There could be a range of opinions on Newton and where he’s slotted in the draft despite all his recent and impressive achievements.
