The folks at Pro Football Focus aren’t shy with their praise of Bills DL Kyle Williams. In fact, they ranked the Pro Bowl DT as the third best performer in the entire NFL last year. Here are the reasons why.
First, Williams ranked second in the league among defensive tackles in total pressures in 2010 with 43. Only Oakland’s Tommy Kelly had more (44) per PFF’s stat analysis.
Second, William’s percentage of positive plays (15.64%) was almost five percent better than the next best defensive tackle and outpaced names like Haloti Ngata (11.26%) and Kevin Williams (10.64%).
The PFF folks also astutely point out that less than 30% of Williams’ snaps last year came at the nose tackle position (28.62%) with more than half coming in a defensive tackle role (56.26%).
