QB’s Throw at Voluntary Workouts

May 26, 1969 — NFL GOES PRIME TIME
ABC signed a landmark three-year deal to telecast Monday night games in prime time starting in 1970, the first regularly scheduled series of sports telecasts in history.

Bills WR Lee Evans on QB Ryan Fitzpatrick after an informal player workout in Elma, NY (from Mark Gaughan’s story in the Buffalo News 5/25/11) —  “He has the respect and the confidence of everybody on the team.  He’s the type of quarterback you can communicate with, on and off the field. And he leads by example, not just by what he says. He’s smart enough to be able to handle certain situations, and guys trust him and believe him. The way he plays, regardless of whatever happens, you know he’s going to play hard and he has your back.”
