Countdown to Bills new Uniform Unveiling – 8 days

— Yesterday, former Bills great Ruben Brown was named a member of the 21st class of the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame.  Brown is part of a 12 member class that includes another former Bills player that was honored posthumously in fullback Cookie Gilchrist. The group will be formally inducted in an early November ceremony this fall.

— The Bills will hold a Gatorade Junior Training Camp today (weather permitting) at Ellicott Elementary School in Orchard Park at 10:00-11:00 am.  The Gatorade Junior Training Camp is a non-contact interactive football program that is designed to stress the importance of physical fitness, good sportsmanship and teamwork for boys and girls between the ages of eight and 12. Billy Buffalo, members of the Buffalo Jills and Buffalo Bills Alumni assist to run each Gatorade Junior Training Camp.

Former Bills guard Ruben Brown on being inducted into the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame — “This is truly an honor for me.  A young guy coming from a place called Piney River, Virginia. I never thought I would’ve come to Buffalo and fall in love with it and say this is the place where I want to raise my kids and have a home. So I say to the committee and all of the guys that came before me, thank you for helping me find my home.”

Uniform Fact of the Day
In 1994, the team wore a patch on the right side of the jersey to celebrate the team’s 35th anniversary and they also wore a patch on the left side of the jersey to recognize the 75th anniversary of the National Football League.
