Bills GM Buddy Nix talked more than once about the talent that might shake loose from other NFL rosters. Cut on Friday, Nick Barnett was visiting the Bills on Saturday.
The veteran LB would be a good get for Buffalo. A starter from his rookie season, he has recorded 100 tackles in every season he’s played where he’s played in at least 15 games. His nine career interceptions speak to his ability in pass coverage.
Yes, he has had a couple of serious injuries in two of the last three seasons with a wrist injury that required surgery last season and a torn knee ligament in 2008 that kept him out of the Packers last seven games last year.
He looked recovered from the knee injury with his 105 tackle, 4 sack season in 2009. Barnett is scheduled to have a physical this morning with the Bills. He also reportedly has a free agent visit scheduled with Detroit.
