The Chicago Bears have caught a lot of heat for the Soldier Field grass field after the Bears themselves had to cancel a practice on it Friday night due to unsafe conditions, but Bills GM Buddy Nix said they’ve assured the Bills personally that the field will be fine for Saturday night’s preseason opener.
Appearing on the Shredd and Ragan show on 103.3 The Edge, Bills GM Buddy Nix said they’ve been assured by the Bears that the field’s surface will be safe and playable.
“They have (called us),” said Nix. “We’ve been in constant contact with them, and we think it’s really been blown out of proportion a little bit. But we’ve been assured and we’ve had it checked. The league is going to look at it to make sure it’s safe and in good shape so that’s what we expect.”
