THIS DAY IN BILLS HISTORY
October 12, 1981 — FERGUSON LIKES PRIME TIME
Bills QB Joe Ferguson passed for 221 yards and three touchdowns in the first half, leading Buffalo to a 31-7 halftime lead on Monday Night Football. The Bills would go on to win, 31-21, over a Dolphins team that came into Rich Stadium with a 4-0-1 record.
QUOTE OF THE DAY
On what the defense has been able to do this season:
Especially what they did in the New England game, the Philly game, four interceptions, just turnover after turnover that they’ve been getting, very opportunistic. That’s huge. It helps us out a lot with field position. Just in terms of the team, there’s so much more confidence when things like that happen. And the touchdowns that they’ve score as well. It’s amazing what they’ve done these first few games in terms of the turnover battle.
