— Buffalo Bills announced yesterday that the team has signed DT Jay Ross to the Practice Squad. Ross was released by Green Bay prior to the regular season after joining the Packers’ Practice Squad on October 20, 2010. The 6-3, 302-pound East Carolina product entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with New Orleans in 2010. Ross totaled 140 tackles with 18.5 stops for a loss and 8.5 stacks in 52 games with 42 starts for the Pirates. Buffalo released WR Tim Toone from the Practice Squad.
— The Buffalo Bills take on the Washington Redskins at 4 p.m. on October 30, 2011, but the party starts well before that with the Budweiser Tailgate, featuring a special performance by Juno award-winning Canadian rockers Finger Eleven. The Budweiser Tailgate begins at 11 a.m. and runs until 3:30 p.m. on game day and provides an experience that stretches from east to west, north to south in the area surrounding Rogers Centre. The Budweiser Big Rig will be on site along with the Bud Girls, great music, tailgate-style food, prizes, giveaways and interactive elements including the Bills Toronto Series mechanical buffalo. Special appearances by the Buffalo Jills, Bills Alumni and Billy Buffalo will also help bring the spirit of a Bills tailgate to Rogers Centre.
— As a part of the 2011 community partnership, the Buffalo Bills Rookie Club will visit the Mississauga YMCA today at 3:45 PM. The visit to the Mississauga YMCA will consist of the dedication of a newly constructed Youth Zone that includes an air hockey table, Pump-It-Up Pro Dance arcade machine, Slam-N-Jam basketball machine, Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360 Kinect video game machines, table tennis table, foosball table, computers, televisions, Buffalo Bills Fathead wall graphics and furniture. The Youth Zone will give children and youth a place to call their own to engage in positive, healthy activities and programs.
The Bills Toronto Series and the YMCA of Greater Toronto are teaming up for the second year of a three-year community partnership. This collaboration includes a fitness membership program at all eight Health, Fitness and Recreation Centres in Toronto, the establishment of an NFL flag-style youth football program and the dedication of newly constructed Youth Zones.
After the dedication of the Youth Zone, the Bills Rookie Club will conduct a Gatorade Junior Training Camp interactive football program designed to stress the importance of physical fitness, good sportsmanship and teamwork for boys and girls between the ages of eight and twelve years old. The Gatorade Junior Training Camp is a part of the Buffalo Bills Play 60 program which encourages children to be physically active for 60 minutes every day.

QUOTE OF THE DAY
Head Coach Chan Gailey
On if there was a difference in the team after the bye week:
I think so. We jumped around out there pretty good today. I thought the effort was great. And I told them at the end of practice if we keep practicing like that we’ll have a chance to win a bunch of football games.
